2008 - Hi! My name is Dana and I can't seem to lose weight no matter what I do! I have tried every diet on earth. At this point I am not really looking for a quick fix diet, I am looking for how to eat for the rest of my life and be healthy. I am now back to Atkins. I tried it years ago and lost weight but stopped because of all the news about how unhealthy it is. I decided it doesn't have to be unhealthy as long as I stick to lean healthy proteins.

UPDATE:2012
It's been 4 years since I started Atkins induction. During induction I pretty much stuck to foods I knew didn't have any carbs because I didn't want to bother with counting carbs. (meats, cheese, eggs, fish, etc) After about 10 days I felt wonderful, and looked like I lost 20 lbs! So, I started researching carbs, wondering if I had to ever eat them again. I learned I didn't and in fact the human body thrives on just protein and fat. That is what I have been eating for 4 years, animal foods only (Zero Carb). Eliminating carbs from my diet changed my life. I look and feel better than ever. As long as I stay away from carbs, I don't gain weight or get sick, I love it! Life is good!

what has been your most successful dieting strategy
4 years ago I went from a size 16 to a size 6. I am still a size 6. My secret? I gave up carbohydrates. I don't eat any. As long as I don't eat carbs the weight stays off. Easiest diet ever!

Breakfast time
Yep, The vanilla shakes have saved me too! If I don't have time to cook breakfast or eat lunch, I have a vanilla shake. If I am still hungry I also have a cheese stick. Cheese sticks and those shakes are my fast food!

Cottage cheese is good for breakfast too, if you like it. I sometimes have cottage cheese on spinach sprinkled w/ flax ground flax seeds. (is that healthy or what! LOL)

Dairy Products.. Good Or bad????
It just depends on what diet you are on. If you are on weight watchers then low fat diary should be ok, but not required. Dairy isn't really required for any diet. It is and easy source of protein, & calcium. My diet (Atkins) allows full fat, low carb dairy products and I love cheese, so cheese is a big part of my diet.
