I can't believe that I finally lost some weight! I'm on day four of phase 1, and I've lost three pounds this week. Crazy! I wish that this could keep up and I could lose 14 pounds in phase 1...

I am sooooooo hungry and lethargic. I think my body is in a shock from the lack of carbs. I have been carbo-loading for years as if I was a marathon runner. And a marathon runner I am not. I really hope that my carb cravings will go away soon... I haven't even gone a whole day yet. I'm starving! Isn't meat supposed to be more filling than carbs?

I'm feeling optimistic about The South Beach Diet. My mom has joined me on this journey and I couldn't be more proud. (she is newgirl48). If you guessed that our screen names include our ages... you're right!

I am re-reading
The South Beach Diet
. I tried this years ago with results, but then gave up before ever reaching my goal. I will start this diet again by April 20th and hope to see it as more of a lifestyle change than a temporary fix this time.
