After noticing that I tend to overeat at the end of the day and mindlessly graze in the morning, I decided to start a 14/10 intermittent fast -- not quite as hardcore as 16/8, but a good challenge for me.
This morning was a bit difficult for me because I woke up at 7:30 and was really, truly hungry for the first time in a while. I kept myself busy by starting laundry, walking the dog, and dinking around on the Internet. I made it till 10:00am, only 1/2 an hour short of my goal! I consider that a real success. :)

I've been implementing a virtual "sticker" chart to reward myself with my favorite mini-indulgence -- Smoothie King! I have the balance right, with 2 exercise goals and 2 diet goals. That way, I don't have to beat myself up if I don't meet one of my goals. I only celebrate my wins. :)
I know it's working, because there are days when I want to overeat or lay around all day, but I don't because I'm only [x] stickers away from earning the right to a guilt-free smoothie.
Also, I think it's changing my eating habits for the better. After about 3-4 days of no sweets, I ate 9 chocolate-covered almonds and didn't have the urge to eat any more.
Off to walk my dog now so I can have that smoothie for lunch tomorrow!! :D

It's no mistake, I actually ate ZERO food yesterday because I was sick with a migraine. So I'm not gonna be too picky about my calories today... Whatever my body needs to recover, I'm going to give it!

Day 2 of under-1800 calories is almost over. Does it still count if I was lying in bed with a migraine most of the day?

My goal through 1/25 (next Friday) is to eat no more than 1800 calories per day -- just about 150-200 calories below my current average.
Slow and steady wins the race!
