Ok, so part of my motivation for dieting is to lower my cholesterol. I originally had a dr. appt. scheduled for Mar. 22. My dr. cancelled my appt. because he was having surgery and rescheduled me for May 9th. TODAY, I get a call rescheduling me again for May 28th! Did I mention I had already had my blood work done for the first appt. when he cancelled (and never got my results), and now I have to get it done again?! If it is that important for me to make my appt. every 3 months so he can monitor me( and get my copay), then why is it okay for him to cancel and put me off for 2 months! I asked to see another dr. in the office and they wouldn't let me. Ok, I'm done venting now.
I really have had a good couple of days. I have managed to skip the junk food AND exercise. I even managed to turn down fast food.
I am nervous about the next couple of days. I have family staying with me from out of town for my Great Uncle's funeral. I know there will be lots of food, plus the urge to do some emotional eating. I will just have to treat them like any other day and take it one meal at a time.

I made it through the weekend!!!! I did vary from what I thought I should be eating, but I didn't do too much damage. I just took it one day (meal) at a time. I weighed in this morning and was down 6 lbs. This is motivation to keep going!

Yesterday was great. I logged my food and exercise, but didn't journal. Today was ok too. I have managed to stay away from the donuts since Tuesday by taking an apple to work with me for mid morning. I also have a little bit more motivation now that I'm in a contest with a co-worker to see who can reach their goal first (unfortunately it is with a 22 year old boy). I'm gonna kick his butt! Wish me luck!

I THOUGHT I was doing well today, staying focused on eating healthy. THEN, I looked more closely at the labels and realized I blew my diet tonight at dinner. Who would have thought that my regular tomato based spaghetti sauce would be better than a combo of extra virgin olive oil, garlic, lemon and spinach? Ugh! I guess I have learned my lesson- I will be better about checking labels! Tomorrow is a new day! :)
