if you're frustrated by weight fluctuations, then weigh yourself every morning and make a weekly average. compare that weekly average against what it was two weeks prior. that'll give you a much more accurate picture of whether or not you're making progress. an average of 1-2 pounds per week is GOOD progress for long term success. your weight loss will slow down as you get leaner

from a marketing perspective, keto is a wonderful diet: plenty of books, testing strips and special MCT oils to sell. I've even seen folks marketing "keto coffee". the sudden drop of 5-10 lbs of water weight the first week assures you it's a miracle. after you get over the "keto flu" be sure you follow the diet religiously or you'll be "kicked out of ketosis". folks tell themselves that the diet is perfect, but their own compliance is bad. this allows for the sale of more supplements advertised to jump start you back into ketosis, AND shifts the blame to the dieter for the diet's inherent inflexibility. almost as good a marketing racket as planet fitness.
