Met with nutritionist today for 60 minutes. Takeaway: high LDL may be (although genetic factors) due to repetitive trauma over past 18 months. Repetitive surgery and long recovery on last one with 11 hour anesthesia time not great. Also carbs can contribute tho not in my case. I had never heard carbs were a problem with LDL. If too high of a quantity She is sending me a summary of our visit and recommendations tomorrow. Specifically she is concerned with my biome health, bio-availability and probiotics from non dairy sources as i have struggled with healthy bowel movements since altering my diet and cutting out the high fat foods in July 2022. Im managing to get something out every day so I didn’t realize im seriously close to a bigger problem. Given my mom struggled with bowels, had to have a bowel resection when she was a couple of years older than me and struggled for decades till her passing i guess it shouldn’t be so surprising. What is surprising is that eating crappy i had no issues. So thats my takeaway from today’s appt. Follow up in a month.

Trainer gave me two new workouts. One she placed these beacons that would light up at 4 different areas around the facility and i had to sprint to the one that lit up and squat and hold squat till next one. Was timed to see how many i could do in a 3 minute session. Done 3 times. Sounds easy right? Nope. Heart rate up and bum was burning. Second new exercise was holding a plank with the beacons at each hand and foot and whichever one lit up had to tap with hand or toe in 60 seconds. Managed 21 first two rounds and 23 on 3rd and yes, breathing hard and heart rate up and it was so fun!!!!

Realized yesterday this is the first summer since 7/22 where i do not have a major surgery on the horizon after 3 very long very serious surgeries 7/22 8/22 and 7/23. Each surgery was minimum of 7 hours under anesthesia with last one 11 hours and difficulty waking me on all three. What an exhilarating feeling to go into summer feeling fantastic and looking healthy. Was so unwell on 1st surgery i was certain I wasn’t going to make it thru and in all honesty BP was so high surgeon nearly called it off. Praise God I feel so blessed. Hope many many others out there are feeling the same. I love my life.

To row or not to row. I had my first rowing session ever today kind of spur of the moment and yep, did it in the 125 degree infrared sauna. 3 rowers to a room. I HATED it. Upper body is not very strong. Only did a 15 minute class and found out 1/2 way thru i was on the highest tension rower so switched with hubs and was much much better. Will do again but definitely not in love with it. So 15 min hot cycle class followed by 15 min hot row class. Totally different workout than ever done before. My doc is very happy at the moment with me. Praying momentum keeps me going. Hubs and i both agreed the rower would probably give me pretty biceps tho. Sidenote.
