We are having Vacation Bible School this week and somehow I got wrangled into heading up the kitchen. I've never done this before, I've always taught or done crafts, so I have been a little stressed. One thing I have learned is: figure out how many servings of anything you will need and double it! It is still super hot, so I am mostly drinking and just nibbling, and my diet calendar is pretty much falling by the wayside. Hopefully, next week will be more "normal".

With the heat index recording temps ranging from 103 to 109, I am having trouble with retaining fluid, so I am not even going to bother with weighing in this week. It is too hot to eat, but I have been drinking water and decaf tea by the gallon and even some diet sodas if that's all that's handy. With the huge garden to deal with, there is no avoiding this heat. Y'all send some rain my way, or least some cloud cover, please!
