Starting December I stopped really tracking and actually focusing on weight loss. I really just needed to maintain and not fall off the wagon for the holidays. I then had a lot of outside stressors in January and I know myself, my energy needed to be spent elsewhere and I just didn’t have it in me to also micromanage every little food item. I’m happy to say that I didn’t gain very much at all 🙃 I’m incredibly thankful that even so I was still conscious of what I was putting in my body. I’ve learned to listen to cues and more importantly, I truly felt how different foods made me feel. I have a sweet tooth and of course some of my first comfort foods were sweets (with real sugar). However, shortly after I felt awful and sluggish. It was eye opening as for the months prior I had been avoiding sugar period and following a lower carb intake. Now, instead of comfort, such foods actually register in my brain as not being worth it. I still have my cheat: stevia sweetened yogurt, with chocolate collagen powder, and if I’m feeling fancy, a sprinkle of Lily’s chocolate chips. This snack works perfectly for me as it sates my craving for an indulgence, and I feel good eating it. Anyways…. Back at it.
