Another two pounds down (actually, as of Friday, the 17th). This weekend has been a little bit lost, what with St Patrick's and all those boiled dinner potatoes. Still, with only a day or two in the hole, I should have time to recover during the next two weeks. As long as I can get back on my regimen the next day, all remains well.
Only 20 pounds now to my target weight. It's encouraging to know that I have made it more than half way since starting this most recent phase. That gives confidence that this time we will complete the effort. More to the point is the realization that we started this journey at 306, and have now lost more than 100 pounds.
Of course, it has taken a long time: nearly 20 years ... but with the patient encouragement of my beautiful spouse and a marvelous physician - and pilgrims on my journey like you - we are "almost there." I have no doubt that the goal will be reached before 2017 is done.
Thank you, all.

Seem to be back on track. Have let up a little on the picayune details of calorie-counting, and have begun to post general values for certain classes of meals.
For example: after 4 months of daily details, I now know that a cold cereal breakfast will run about 300 cal; a toast-only breakfast around 400; eggs and bacon or ham close to 500. A sandwich with two slices of bread will cost me close to 450 cal, but the same fillings in a tortilla wrap only 350.
My goal is to stay under 1500 cal per day, and by "rounding up" my estimates to the next 100 cal total, I can let up on the tedium of counting and still stay within my limits.
Saw the doc last week and got the good (!) news from the labs:
Total cholesterol - 152; trigs - 102; A1C - 5.2.
Thank you partners and friends.

WOW!
5 Pounds in 2 weeks. I had cracked down on my calorie counting, which had gotten sloppy over the holiday period. Wanted to get my long-term average back down under 1500/day. So last two weeks had a few 1100 and 1200 calorie days. But this I did not expect. Could it just be a temp water loss? Guess I will just have to wait for next weigh-in to see.

Wow! Had to check the calibration on the scale to confirm this reading. Apparently, nothing succeeds like sticking to the plan (1500 cal per day). I went above the average during December, but am now steadily working my way back down. Should be back under 1500, long term, by the end of the month. I checked in with the Doc at 222 in October, and had hoped for 215 when I see her next month. Looks like I could check it as low as 210. That would be very nice. Thank you to all who support and encourage. You are the people who keep me on track. FatSecret is great!
