Have been calorie-conscious at almost every meal, and am making progress about as hoped. After almost a full year at this effort, I am noting the greatest benefit in the absence of any great desire to eat between meals. The snacks and treats were always my downfall in the past, and avoiding them was the most difficult part of getting this regimen underway. It now seems that what had once been a conscious effort, is now a matter of habit -- I just don't eat between meals under ordinary circumstances.

Off the rails...
No excuses, just let the season (graduations, birthdays, and other celebrations) get the best of me.
It is hard to start all over, but that is the only way to get back on track: set up my calorie program and count every one for at least the next month.
Short term goal: 199 by September (my next check-in with the Doc)
Long term goal: 185 this time next year.
I am too close, and have come too far, to let this fall apart now.
6 AM - Noon: 400

There now, that's a little better.
Better half is beginning to gripe that I'm looking "too skinny," and has taken to pushing food at me. It's true that my head has gotten bony and my eyes are beginning to look sunken in their sockets, but if 185 was a good weight when I was 37, it should be good 40 years later, doncha think?
So the goal remains: 185 - and now I have only 18 more to go.
For the short term, I am going to focus on my birthday (22 June), and be happy with 199 by that time. Four pounds in 6 weeks should be do-able.

"Reasonably well" only because it was not bad enough to be called "Poorly." End of tax season and Easter weekend contributed to the less-than-stellar results. Still, even a half-pound in the right direction is progress, and for that I am grateful. Still sneaking up on Mr 199.
