Looked at the preparation instructions for my colonoscopy, which is next week. Wow! I don't know how my mother-in-law did it. 3 days before no seeds, corn, popcorn, nuts, and no fruit or vegetables with seeds. That would mean no strawberries, bananas, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, zucchini... Dang, but manageable. The day before is a basic full day fast/liquid diet, which is only clear liquids and no red or purple food coloring. It gets worst...nothing to drink at all after midnight or you turn into a Gremlin! The bright side is, I should lose some weight doing this. My new nurse practitioner found a way to convince me to do it. She said the magic words, "If you get a clean bill of health from that colonoscopy, you won't have to worry about it for another 10 years." I like the 10 years thing. I'm pretty confident, I'll be good; although, I am keeping my fingers crossed. Not cool having a family history of all sorts of cancers.

Got my test results and they aren't so good. Blood pressure, total cholesterol, glucose, and A1C are all slightly elevated. Compared my weight to last year and that's up too of course. I know there are lots of people, who would love to have my test results, because the elevation is only slight, but it puts me into prediabetic. Yuk! I'm taking it as a warning to get more serious with trying harder to improve my health. I think the best thing for me might be to go back to being a vegetarian to get everything down again. I'm thinking of trying pescatarian instead though, because I really love my seafood. Weird things happening doesn't help either. Got a phone call yesterday from my office phone, which should not happen since it is a phoneline that was assigned to me. The caller sounded like one of my coworkers trying to disguise his voice by holding his nose. He asked to talk to me and I asked who it is. The person held on for a few seconds and hung up. I told my hubby and he said there's been a weird person walking around the parking lot where he works. He said that they are wearing a hoodie and pull the hood over their face, when they see him. Who wears a hoodie in 80+ degree weather? It just makes me feel like someone is still watching me, but it really can't be confirmed yet. Oh well, I'll just have to try not to let it all bother me and focus on myself.

Looks like the salad for lunch and salad for dinner idea is working. :) About time I start seeing some weight loss. I came up with the idea, because I was looking into OTC weight loss aids. Found a guy reviewing some on YouTube, which gave me the idea of something more natural like salads. The guy bought a weight loss supplement and it didn't work at all for him. Then the same guy bought a different weight loss aid and said it was more like taking a laxative. That is what reminded me of the salad I used to eat for super, when I needed to take off a few pound when I was younger. Decided to go back to eating my Waldorf salad with romaine lettuce for super. It keeps the pipes clean; even though, I have never had a problem with going to the bathroom. The salad for lunch, is more of a creative venture so it varies by what I put in it. Still have an egg and toast for breakfast and sometimes add popcorn to my lunch. I'm very happy, just hope the pounds keep melting off. I guess what I really want to say is to never give up. Just keep trying different meal plans and see what works for you.
