Having a good day. Had a chef salad and some dressing with a SF Jello for dessert. Down a couple of ounces and doing well. Pants are getting quite loose and I can't wait for my vacation in October!
Going to the gym tonight and using the weights as well as my cardio as usual.
Have a great day everyone!

Went out to dinner last night with my sister and her husband. They're back from Spain and wow did they have a great time! Had a delish dinner and I was pretty good. I had no bread but I ate a wonder chicken cordon blue. Very good. I also had a couple of bites of wonderful strawberries and ice cream. As per the SBD they would rather you have ice cream than bread so I really didn't do that bad. In fact I lost weight this morning so go figure.
Off to the gym after work...take care everyone!

Haven't had much time to write these days...even though work has slowed down a bit...I've had a few issues with the house that I've had to take care of. On Thursday evening, after I came home from the gym, I went to the sink to add water to the dogs bowl and found out that the water had been turned off. No water! OMG. I've never had the experience of no water before..electricity, yes, water? no! Ok..think...think...what happened? I know I paid the bill (a big whopping $50) so that's not it. I went on my bank statements and saw that they cashed it...so thats not it. My mind was working feverishly trying to figure out why I didn't have water. I tried to see if anyone else in the neighborhood was up in arms. I really don't know what I was looking for...people in the street? on their knees praying to the utility company? No...everyone seems to be in their homes doing their thing. I WAS THE ONLY ONE! Do you know how lonely that is? I mean, when the electric goes off in the neighborhood you have a kind of camaraderie,like..they're suffering too! I'm not the only one! Well no such luck here. Ok...I have an armadillo living with me and no water...hey, maybe that will make it move! Way to keep optimistic!!
On my way out the front door to get the mail, I found a note that the utility company left letting me know that there was a pipe break at the end of the property and they had to turn off the water and that I would need to call a plumber to get it fixed. Oh dear lord...ok...think think..what do I do now. I've just come from the gym, sweaty and disgusting and I need a shower not only tonight, but tomorrow to go to work. My sister is in Spain so I can't go there...my daughter doesn't have a bed and I'm just too old to bunk on her couch (plus with two dogs, two cats and never the sense of urgency to clean you can see why I'm real reluctant to stay) and my son's in college (can you imagine me coming in saying I'm here for the night!)...so off to a hotel I went.
I pack things up, take the dog out one last time and head out to the local Hampton Inn for a shower and a bed. With my AAA membership I got the amazingly overpriced room for $149. Sheesh. But I couldn't put a price on water.
As I finally settle in the for the night after taking a long hot shower, at midnight the hotel (in their infinite wisdom)decides to test the smoke alarms. Not once but twice...at midnight no less. Needless to say, my heart rate got alot of working out that night...from the gym to the piercing sounds...that muscle is in very good shape.
Well, Friday brings a couple of plumbers and a utility company and me out another $300. Oh well, that's home ownership right? right? The key to wealth...bwaahahahah.
Sigh, but in other news...I'm doing well on the new lifestyle thing and I kept to what I need to eat. I feel good, I have my health, (at least I know my heart is good) I've lost 10 pounds AND I have water. Sometimes the basics are all you need.

gaining 0.4 lb a week

There is so much rain here since Monday...even Jim Cantore came to town to check out the floods! lol...anyway, it took an hour and 10 minutes to get to the gym after work because of the flooding and traffic. By the time I worked out and came home I didn't get to eat dinner until 8:15! uggg. Anyway, I'm hoping that it will be easier to get to the gym today...
Following the plan and not touching the scale until Saturday. Hope everyone is well and I'll talk to you all tomorrow!

I decided to take a couple days off from here and step back to see the forest thru the trees..so to speak. Thanks to everyone for all the encouragement. Its lovely to see so many people in your corner. I did manage to meet my week ending goal of 140, so I'm proud of that. I just needed to get away from the scale because it was making me crazy. So with a renewed vigor and a good sense of humor I'm plodding on.
I was very good this weekend and I'm not going to worry about too much until I weigh in again next week. Missed exercise today, the weather was torrential, the traffic horrific and I just didn't feel like fighting both of them to get to the gym. I will work out my allotted 4 days, I just won't take Wednesday off. I may do Saturday depending on what my social schedule looks like. Oh who am i kidding..I'll be there on Saturday.
Anyway, thanks again everyone for all the good advice and good wishes! Take care and talk to you all tomorrow...
