So we're at today. My weight has come up. I'm 6 months along and my GP and OB are very happy with the total weight gain. I'm doing really well. I'm following a pregnancy diet, and we're watching salt and sugar since I'm an older mom-to-be. I have occasional cravings and I DO give in. Once a week I'll let myself have a scoop of ice cream or a small french fry from McDonald's. I'm happy to report that most weeks I don't take the "food holiday", making the times I do feel like a real treat.

Recorded May 2014 - this was about the week I stopped doing weekly weigh ins. While my diet did - and does - remain healthy for the baby, obsessing about putting weight back on wasn't so good.

Recorded May 2014 - a weekly weigh in. I was doing what I was told and still putting on the pounds. At 297 again and all I could think about was that damned 300 barrier, which, of course, I knew I'd be crossing on the wrong side soon enough.

Recorded May 2014 - My GP, OB and I decided on a total weight gain target of 25-30 pounds for this pregnancy, and I already jumped 6 in two weeks. I felt so disappointed in myself. My GP and the consultant for my gallbladder surgery - which I was supposed to have in February - told me that going from a nearly fat-free diet was going to have an effect. I kept my calories at 1800, with some basic food changes to keep the baby healthy. They told me I'd level off soon.

Recorded May 2014 - a weekly weigh in. This is when I found out I was pregnant. The diet stopped. Started on the prenatal vitamins and had to put a lot of foods I avoided back into my diet - like 2% milk and other fattier content things. My weight bounced up.
