Shordee's Journal, 13 April 2010

Okay, friends and family - I fell right off the map!! It started at Easter and has been "bad" ever since. Did not care!! Okay, so the new plan is to start going to Weight Watcher's meetings on Thursday mornings before work! I know, I know - it costs money BUT it seems "for me" the only way I'll care and get it down is to weigh in weekly in front of that friendly lady at the scales and "pay" money so I behave!!

Call me weak but it works for me!! Stay tuned for the awful news on the first weigh-in on Thursday!!

Look out world! Shordee is in need of a counselling!!

ME TOO ME TOO!!!!!! I feel so bad that I haven't even entered my weight from monday :( That's ok though because I think mine was mostly water weight cause I'm backe to what I was a week ago :) Now I just have to try and lose something for a change instead of gaining. Thats' ok though we will get back on track and find the combination that works for us and then fly :)

No one ever said this was going to be easy. But we have each other and that motivation is good, we could do mini challanges between the 4 of us if you would like, it might just give us a little more motivation to keep pluggin along, For example challange one is who can lose 2 pounds this week or something along those line, let me know if you think that would work, it makes it easier to do if you have to report to someone. Keep going and now the weather is getting nicer so it will make it easier to be more active outside. I just got bags of chocolates and bags of chips from work, they wrote them off, like thats a kick in the stomach, here good jub on you weight lose but have 20 pounds of chocolate to reward yourself. Good thing I have kids and a husband who will eat it all. Oh and the Ferria Roscha chocolate was maked down to .99 for a box of 12. I had to buy a couple becasue of the price, lol, I havent ate any yet but they sure are calling my name. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rock on baby

Okay, note the weight gain of "6.8"!! Holy crap, I know I had clothes on but that is down right embarrassing!! I felt good about going to the meeting and here are some tips I learned: hope they help all "My Buddies"! 1. Beware of the digital monster (weigh scale)- it can be a demotivator at times. Instead, take pictures of yourself at various weights; haul them out when you are feeling down and see for yourself where you were and how you look now. One lady said she did that but couldn't really see it but when her friend said look at the objects in the background - you can "see more of them", she realized she did look better. 2. Make sure you take your measurements and when you feel sad because you've hit a plateau, do your measurements again and you may be pleasantly surprised at the loss. Not all losses are measured on the weigh scale!! 3. When you hit a plateau (and "yes" they can last quite awhile - our instructor said she was on one for 9 months-OMG, heaven help us); you may have to change up what you've been eating if you're stuck in the same old patterns; add more activity; "yes" add a point (WW's) to increase your food a bit and make sure you are following the guidelines of your program. If you're feeding yourself with junk and staying within your points, you aren't following the program. So, there you have it Week 1 tips! Hope they help. I'll report Week 2 tips next Thurs. evening. I accept your challenge of 2 pounds this week!! Come on gals, we can do it! I'm getting out that pedometer Connie and we'll see how far I'm walking. Besides, if I do exercise, I get 35 extra points a week and when you're living on 18 points a day that's a "real" bonus/motivator! Anyway, I'm glad we're all working on this together!! Love Ya!

Yes! So then I guess I should weigh in and we can put our weights in again for next thursday. What shall we say is the prize......... I know - we can share the cost of a bottle of wine for the winner. :) and if Victoria wins we can get her something for the same price - like a timmies card Let me know what you think

Have today and Monday off, so spent 3 and half hours walking while shopping! Darn it - I broke my pedometer before I started though! It fell outta my pocket (twice) and it's toast! Any ideas where to get another one? Hey, I'm in on the challenge!! Glad you weighed in and "yes", next Thursday is our official weigh-in day now. I'll record mine when I get back from the meeting. Okay, now I'm liking this new motivation! Great prize!! Good thinking there!

Garry felt so bad I broke the pedometer, he gave me money towards a new one. Stopped at Sport Chek on my way back from Calgary (had an MRI on my head - Gar, said "did they find anything" - ha, ha) and got a new pedometer (on sale too!). Today, was my "use my extra points day" and I had fun pigging out. I only have 5 pts. left; so I'll just stick to program for the rest of the week cuz I got a bet with you gals!!! Gar also got my bike down and all ready for me; so I can start biking again!! Looking fwd. to that!! Anyway, behave now til Thursday and we'll see who wins the challenge!!
