My goal is to lose around 75lbs in five months. So, even with the bad eating, I am still doing lots of exercising to combat it. Today I am back on track, and I am planning on losing some more weight. Today's exercises was the spin bike and walking. I am sore after that. But I am glad I had done it

Do you have a trainer or coach guiding this goal? it seems very ambitious. at 2#/week, the sort of standard, we're talking 35 weeks or about 8 mos, which is still ambitious in terms of consistency and handling the emotional components of losing so much weight. now, if you've got a coach helping you, then maybe it's doable. But I worry about setting yourself up for disappointment. Best of luck to you at any rate!

Morgan, your current rate of weight loss since January is about 5 pounds a month which is decent. Now maybe if you tweak some things it could go faster but what you’re proposing is three times as fast. To me something in between seems like a more realistic goal. I agree with katrobyn; it would be a good idea to check with your doctor or whoever is helping you with meal planning (I think you mentioned that before?) to get their opinion. In any case your steady progress these last few months is very encouraging! Congrats 🎉

15 lbs a month, 1/2 lb a day. Sounds pretty intense.

This is a very realistic and commendable goal. A rate of about 1% b/w loss per week is absolutely doable. I promise you, fix the bad eating and losing weight will become much easier. It’s way easier to watch what you eat than it is to try and burn it off. Of course, keep on exercising! Sorry for all the people discouraging you or making it seem so daunting. You got this 💪

15 lb a month is really ambitious 🙂 I suggest restricting your eating to a ten hour window each day (7-5 or 8-6). That will give your body a break from digestion so you can burn fat more easily while you sleep. It also prevents nighttime snacking - a double win 🙂

Morgan, your goals are pretty ambitious but not impossible. It has been said that by far, the biggest factor in weight loss is diet. Your activity, in addition to following your way of eating, will speed up your weight loss and work well for you. Remember, CICO is a component of every successful weight loss effort... Keep at it, and you will win!!!

Remember weight loss (done safely) is a marathon, not a sprint. Nice on your exercise. Seems like I’ve heard time and time from many many testimonies that strength training is a big help w weight loss goals. v. lots of cardio.

You are going to need to be eating lots of protein: meat, fish, eggs and cheese - in order to build muscle. If you don't get enough protein, your body will burn up muscle instead of fat.

2lbs/wk is what I averaged last year... Gained some back overwinter, now restarting and doing about 1.5lbs/wk. "Exercise" as most people refer to isn't necessary (weights, jog, gym, etc), but constant/consistent activities and calorie intake control is. Dedication and consistency will get you there. Keep at it!! ⚖️📉😊👍

The exercise is going to help considerably with your fitness and health, which is commendable. I'll echo two things others have said, though. Don't try to go so fast that you burn out and rebound. Keeping it off is in some ways harder and more important than taking it off. Second, it's been my experience that the weight battle is mostly won in the kitchen, not the gym. Best of luck to you!

The most important thing in the kitchen is to home cook your meals. It can be simple meat and vegetables. Avoid packaged food (it's full of sugar, flour, chemicals and junk) and minimize fruit as it is also sugary. Starches turn to sugar in your body too. We're rooting for you! It's not easy to lose weight fast and stay healthy. Better to stay healthy and that will get the weight down.
