my anxiety is through the roof-i dont know if its because i havent gotten outside to run since monday morning (and i HATE the treadmill) but i cant stop thinking about food. I already had a dark chocolate bar, a protein poptart, a sugar free cookie and a scoop or 2 of halo top. its been quite some time since ive felt like this. Hopefully i can get outside tonight.

Feeling better?

have you been stressed lately, or maybe under eating? every now and then I feel like an insatiable lunatic and it's usually tied to increased cortisol and often - it's due to undereating for a few days maybe being busy, skipping a meal, etc...

Kaylin, it sounds like you are doing better than you're giving yourself credit for. It sounds like you are balancing out the stress eating with activity, and that's a win in my book. Give yourself some grace. 💚

sounds like you need a Calgon 'take me away' bath. I understand. sometimes I get severe indigestion and my whole system is messed up over stress.

I think she might be a little too young to get that reference. YouTube it though. Classic.

Cacao and reishi mushroom powder have helped me with my anxiety. I don't know if you drink coffee but sometimes if I have too much, that will kick up my anxiety. Replacing a cup of coffee with a cup of cacao helped me a lot.

Glad to hear K! My wife swims every morning, the pool has had a broken heater for the last month. She stopped swimming while waiting for it to be repaired (still broken). She became very agitated. Swimming is her ‘therapy’ time where she processes what’s going on her life. So she has started back up, cold water and all but at a later time in the morning so it’s a tad bit warmer when getting out of the water. So I understand when you say it’s anxiety etc and not an eating related issue, it’s the time running and processing while running that you miss. Keep it up my friend, exercise does wonders! Physically and mentally and emotionally.

Low/high sodium can also cause you to be anxious as well as hunger cravings (specifically the “sweet tooth” in my experience). Checking on your sodium levels might be something to track. Government recommends 2.3g of sodium a day (excluding any health complications of course) but there’s information out there that would suggest 4-6g of sodium per day would be optimal. Of course I’m only referring to quality sodium sources like Himalayan sea salt and not highly processed sodium that you would find in fast food and such. If you haven’t looked into sodium, that might help

ugh, I feel you. I haven't ran in over a week, and I can feel how my mood has shifted. I hope you're able to get a run in!
