Wow that's awesome! I've only lost about 15 lbs during this time and already have lots of sagging, but then I'll be 70 next month 😄! Age really makes a difference, when I was 40 and lost 40 lbs in 3 months sagging wasn't an issue! So you younger people get it off and keep it down to avoid this issue!

Well, great for you. But let me set something right. Weight loss surgery, is NOT, the easy way to lose weight. It is only a tool, and you still have to do the work, and put your time in. I started out, not being able to walk far at all, period. Let alone exercise in a way that would further weight loss, because of the pretty nasty arthritis in my spine. Yeah, people get arthritis in their spine, but not everyone has it bad enough that it requires two neck surgeries, and shots every few months in their lower back. I do. I’ve had two cervical spine surgeries, and even because of the degenerative disc disease, herniated at C4, and lost the use of my left arm for about six months. I’m also looking at permanent damage to nerves, and I lost my career as a nurse, due to the permanent damage. Yes, I over ate to compensate emotionally. Yes, the food was my fault. But.. when you get to the point I was at, either look at being in a wheel chair, or have weight loss surgery, I chose the surgery. It was not easy. I spent three months with severe nausea, and it will come back now and then, no warning. It is now, after 8 months, that I have been able to get rid of my walker, and go back to my cane. I can walk easier and farther, but most other exercises, hurt to do, and will cause neck and lower back pain. Yes, the weight is coming off a bit easier, but I’m still putting in the work and the lifestyle change. So, please don’t infer, that weight loss surgery is the easy way out. It isn’t. It is often the last effort to save a life. It saved mine! I’m glad you are down from such a high weight, I’m getting there. In my time and I’m fine with that. I’m not angry at you, but, your casual comment that you’ve lost weight the hard way, and not with WLS, is careless, and wrong. Go look at a program for WLS and see what kind of hard work must go in to it, even before you are approved for surgery, 3 months of hard work. So, before you casually toss off a remark like you did, please think, before speaking to something you know nothing about.

@Bodaciousblueeyes, How dare you! There were no inferences being made. Not sure what you are going through but it must be rough. A more appropriate comment should be on your own journal not left here in this journal entry. I will not let my fellow warrior be attacked, this comment was an attack. Gary, you are an awesome teacher and friend and I am proud of you. I am very proud of you.

I don't think weight loss surgery is easy. I do think weight loss surgery is dangerous and unnecessary; dangerous for obvious reasons and unnecessary because there are safer and easier ways to lose to weight.

Everyone has different ways of getting to the finish line. There is no special magic, being WLS or Atkins or Slimfast. No one here is pointing a finger and saying one way is better than another. The fact that Do was able to do and be proud of himself is all that we as the FS community need. My hubbie had WLS and that for him was the only way to kill the dragon. Enough of being critical. That is one of the issues we all have. People are critical and this community is not about that. Have a great Tuesday and a better life to all. The Mama has spoken...

Your hubby still had to change what he ate, the amount he ate, and the frequency with which he ate, Cstella. He could have accomplished the same thing without the surgery, but if he really feels like weight loss surgery was his only option and he succeeded with it, that's wonderful. My own opinion is that the only reason he feels like weight loss surgery was his only option is because he wasn't willing to find another, but the answer was there for him the whole time, weight loss surgery just forced him adhere to a lifestyle change.

Let’s be kind and supportive to each other. We’re all in the same race just at different paces and for different reasons. There’s too much hate, jealousy, bullying etc already in this world. Have a great evening🌙

@@@@@@@@To ALL I apologize,I have never meant any disrespect to anyone on there WOE,or life style choices, many people have private messaged me asking if I had WLS and I can say YES 37 years ago when it was stomach stapling, I was #365 went down to #275 but stapling was not permanent, so I did balloon back up to 427# I to have a had a rough journey and still do as I have other medical situations I don't share on here as I try to remain positive. Whatever people decide to do to be Happy and content with, I'm ALL for it.. And I'm DO N OK and I hope you are to!!
