I was intrigued by a lady who lost weight by having incremental goals. I can see where losing 10 pounds is a lot less intimidating than 100 pounds. So, thought I'd give it a try.

That's why I love my digital scale. I weigh every day and get excited over one ounce down! Today I made it to a whole new number, so whoo hoo! I call it MicroGoals :)

Sounds like a gOOd plan! I did the same thing. I changed my goal to a reasonable one in my eyes. (LoL) and to an obtainable one in my mind set. Good luck!

Whatever it takes to motivate you is worth the effort! I do little things like hang a blouse I want to wear on the door until I can wear it (one size down). I also love the micro-goals. My scale weighs in .2 increments and I know that when I first get up, I usually weigh X... then after my shower (for some reason), I usually weigh X-.4.

Nidoqueen, I can't weigh myself after I shower. Even the trace amount of moisture I pick up adds on some sort of weight. Best for me is to get up, go to the bathroom, undress, and weigh. Sometimes at night I weigh again to see how much weight I've picked up during the day. I'm trying to keep my "day weight" down to around 2 pounds a day as that means I've eaten correctly (for me) and my morning weight may be down an ounce or two :) It's a fussy way to live but it works for me.

SoCalPam, I totally get the "day weight". I do that too and yes, I aim for about the 2lb max mark. I can't explain why I weigh less after my shower, but I always do :-)

Whatever works for you is best! If that means setting 10 lb goals - then go for it! As you begin to lose, it will get easier and maybe your weight goals will be bigger. Celebrate the little stuff - like fitting into pants you can’t wear now or weighing less than what it says on your drivers license (that was so exciting for me!).
