My hip hurts my glutes hurt i spent 45 extra minutes on my walk trying to catch a loose dog while walking my big dog. As i have been warned off running (hip) i was walking as fast as possible. I got within INCHES of catching him but he was terrified and kept running. He was headed for busy area and i see another dog walker guy and im hollering “catch him catch him!!” And then i lost track of them the guy turned around and started running after the dog who was running (and had just gotten out of the street facing oncoming traffic). I had also wrangled in 3 youngsters (probably 12-13) on bikes who almost caught dog also but he was too strong and got away. I have been so worried for him. He was a mostly white Aussie mix and then on the neighborhood facebook page i see they found out he is chipped and has a name. Gizmo!! The guy i hollered at and the 3 kids and another guy cornered him and sweet talked him and were able to catch him. I knew they had caught him as the kids kept riding around till they found me to let me know he was safely leashed. Humane society called owners but got no answer. Hoping by tomorrow he will be safely home. I think i did 6 ish miles in my pathetic rescue attempt but my leg sure was throbbing from the fast as possible walk for so long. Not the distance that got me just the speed and probably the worry. All seems to be ending well tho. Who said kids are not amazing?! These were the best kindest kids ever. Reassuring in a world where humanity sometimes seems lost.

Morticia you read my mind. I had such horrific visions of seeing him hit by someone traveling at such a high rate of speed. He was so frightened and we both know that the furries dont have the understanding of cars that we wish they did. How are you and hubs doing? I saw your post to Tim with regard to husbands treatments and how difficult it can be for you but i know you love him dearly. It’s a lot on your heart to watch him go thru it and the heart hurt that happens to us while trying to be supportive. Xoxo friend.

I hope you didn't strain too much and feel better tomorrow. Take care of yourself, ice, and do what Dr. recommends to feel better soon! I know I would have done exactly the same. I'm so glad he's safe now, and you can rest easy!

Badjujugurl-i think anyone who has a heart for the helpless would have done the same and those that wouldn’t are most likely not kind humans.

Oh, you warm my heart again, you are so loving and caring, of people and animals. I'm sorry you have so much pain and can't get the sleep and rest you need. You put up with a lot. But you have a heart as big as all outdoors.

Hubby has good days and bad days. The first few are bad and then he gradually gets better. There are entirely too many dead animals on the roads. I wish there was some way to prevent that.

Thanks Snowie, i dont really put up with a lot to be honest. My life is really happy (minus grief of m.i.l. Passing). But i do have a big heart for the furries (and the feathered😂). I read your post today and it was such a positive post im happy things are in some ways improving for you. Heart issues are worrisome tho.

Morticia i agree with you. Do you guys have pets currently? Might help with hubby dealing with treatment? And for you as the supportive loved one?
