Yearofhealth2023's Journal, 10 October 2023

First day back with trainer. Did inbody. Not much muscle loss which surprised me. Trainer was happy tho honestly i felt weak today. We are going to go slow for next 4-6 she said before going back to compound exercises. BMI was 20.00. PBF was 23.5. Weight was 135.4 (with clothes and 16 oz water drunk). Suggestion is to add about 8 pounds of muscle. We’ll see. SMM 56.2. BFM 31.8 pounds. Left arm 102.5% right arm 103.4% left leg 105.8% right leg 105.3% trunk 99.8%. Also pointed out to her that i noticed i was projecting my neck forward in pictures. Trainer said that was due to weak scapula so we will be working on getting that area stronger. Day one down. Rest of life to go😂🥰. Xoxo friends.💕

Diana, at the top of the page to the left of the weight icon is a clock symbol and it shows how many calories to maintain rdi net of exercise best i can tell. Example mine says 1965 calories (which is may rdi plus the exercise i did today) and a net of 1508 currently. Do you see that piece?

YOH, no phone app just shows calories remaining, calories consumed. It then breaks down far, carbs, protein, and rdi %...

Great job retaining most of your muscle!! I can see you looking great at 140 lbs. You are 5" taller than me & weigh slightly less right now. I feel good at 134 -136. I don't think I'd look healthy at much lower. I get how it's hard to see the #s rise on the scale. You're doing great!!

Obviously, "Great" seems to be my favorite adjective tonight 🙄

Sherrye thanks for the great encouragement (see what i did there😂). It’s crazy i was 128 pounds when i was younger and was still trying to lose ten pounds. But im seeing it in my face as well as my back that it’s too thin. I dont have that youthful look anymore at 60. No fair🥵. Trading wisdom for youthful skin is the deal i guess. I told hubs i was ok at 138 or 139 but no more. He wants me to go back to 150 but my head is like NOOOOOOO. Plus, i dont think it’s a good idea to gain too much weight after this surgery. Would hate to have spent all that $$$ and pain and ruin it. Seriously though sherrye thank you so much for the encouragement and also for your food pics. I just love them.

Hi friend! So glad you’re able to go back to working with your trainer! It’s great that you haven’t lost the muscle you worked so hard to build. I’m happy that you’re not listening to that little voice that says, “You still need to lose more weight.” You already look G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S!!! Like others, I’m still awaiting those before/after pictures of your torso. We know the arms look fabulous, but what about that tummy and posterior?! We’ve tried to be patient, but surely it’s time for the great reveal! I’m so proud of you for being so diligent about getting in your Protein and keeping your Calories down, and for listening to your surgeon and NOT going back to training until he gave you the OK to do it. I’m sure it must have been hard for you to wait all this time! Ok, almost 4am - gotta get started on my walking. Knee not hurting too much this morning, PTL! Glad I stopped after 5 miles yesterday.

I feel like I was always trying to lose just a little weight when I was younger. I was @ 125 for hot minute just before I got pregnant with my daughter. Looking back at photos, I looked slender in them. At my age now, if I was too thin, it wouldn't do me any favors. Plus, at the weight I'm at, I can eat between 1700-2000 calories & maintain, as long as I work out 3 days a week. You'll find your optimal weight over time.

I'm so glad your recovery is going well! ❤️ Make sure to listen to your body & don't overdo it. Like you said, you have the rest of your life. 8 pounds of muscle sounds like an awesome plan!

YOH... to each their own. Personally, I would welcome 8 lbs of muscle any day. 20, if I could get it..lol.

Z dont get me wrong. If i could gain 8 pounds of muscle replacing 8 pounds of fat—-DEAL! It’s just my messy headspace that doesnt want to see those numbers. Tho 145 was my initial goal I FEEL better at this lighter weight. I move easier, i have more stamina and stairs are welcome now not a burden. When i was in my 20’s my trainer would take me to the high school stadium and have me run the stairs. And i mean ALL of the stairs as part of my cardio. It was hard and i was in great shape. To be in my 50’s and have a racing heart at one flight of stars in my house was such a contrast. When i was in my mid 40’s i raced my then teenage daughter up the stairs at universal studios. She was an athlete in those days and i kept up with her till the last 10-15 stairs. It’s those things that i think about.

Z—-ps but im ok going up a few pounds, probably need to so there is the weirdness that is my thinking😂

YOH... "The scale is the devil!" *in my best Water Boy's mom voice* 🤣 I have the same conflicting relationship with it. I've almost come to the conclusion that I'm going to strength train, eat as healthy as I can while keeping my protein up & screw the rest. What happens, happens...lol.

Well done! 🌹💖🌹
