JerseyGirl30's Journal, 03 September 2010

Well I've been reading a few forum posts about shocking teh metabolism to get it back into weight loss mode. Most people recommend doing this by having a cheat day. My decision was to not do this, but to change whwat I have been eating. I am hoping it works. I've een pretty consistent with the foods I've been eating, the same breakfast and lunch a few slight varations for dinner. Surprisingly I have not grown bored of this due to the weight I guess falling off me, but this week has been a brick wall. Not much in the way of weight change. So I've decided to mix it up a little. We'll see how it plays out!

I have done Atkins twice before, 1st time lost 85lbs in 6 months and 2nd 60 lbs in 4 months, so I have hit that plateau. I have tried the cheat day and found that it made sticking to the diet way hard so good choice not doing that. The last time I hit it, I made myself try at day of intensive activity which caused me to eat every 2 hours, dropping my carb intake to less than 10. This worked GREAT!!! I lost two pounds that day and was back on weight lost track. When I say intensive activity I don't mean run a marathon (would have killed me)!!! I went walking in the morning, then did housework, then went hiking. Basically I barely stopped moving all day. It was hard but it did the trick. Hope this helps.
