I'm trying something different this time! The Slow Carb diet appeals to me because I can completely avoid certain foods 6 days a week, and have what I want on Saturdays. I haven't been very successful with diets that allow everything in moderation. I suppose moderation isn't my strong suit and that's why I'm fat to begin with.

SO, I'm starting over. I hope to have lost most of this weight by the time my baby turns one. I'll need to be able to chase that kid around. I can already see the mischief brewing behind his big brown eyes!

Every day, I weigh
I've been weighing in EVERY day, and at first the weight was coming off every day and it was very motivating. But now that it has slowed down, I actually find it a bit discouraging. I know the little ups and downs are normal, but when I've busted my butt and I see that I've GAINED a pound, it makes me so mad! I, too, only record losses Smile

I don't understand
The RDI on this site seems high to me. I lowered mine by about 300 calories based on nutrition advice I received from my personal trainer friend awhile ago. For every 3500 calories you burn, you should lose a pound of fat. If that's not happening, I'd adjust your RDI.

I don't understand
With just a glance at your food journal, I would recommend cutting back on the salt. Consuming too much salt can cause you to retain water which could be keeping your weight up. I am a salt freak, and this is basically the hardest thing for me! Also, the caffeine in soda can have a similar effect. I've been drinking lime-flavored carbonated water. It's not as sweet and tasty, but it can help with soda cravings without the extra sugar and caffeine. Otherwise, eating less than you burn should ALWAYS cause weight loss. Hope that helps!
