Vegetarian SB?
There may already be a post about this, so forgive me.

Is there anyone here following south beach, that's vegetarian? I'm starting tomorrow. I'm done with the weigh meat makes me feel.

Any tips? Or ways to get protein? I don't eat eggs either.

Healthy Snacking for SB is good though. I haven't been on phase 1 in a while, but I think your required 3.

Also, You could put almonds in a sandwich bag and stick them in your scrubs pocket.

I work from 4pm - 2 am usually. (I'm a bartender)

I have a few ideas..

Do you have a refrigerator in your break room?

Usually on my day off, I will make a bunch of grilled chicken. Or I will put skinless boneless chicken in a crockpot and cook it all day. Then I pack it for the week. I also steam a whole bag of veggies or a pre-made salad, and take it with also.

Then theres Low fat cheese sticks, and I always keep a big can of unsalted almonds behind the bar. Also depending on what SB phase you are on, they make really good wraps you can take. (Kind of like a lunchable)

You cant go wrong with snacking on grilled chicken and veggies. Also Little mini bottles of low sodium V8 are good on breaks.

cystal light?
I had crystal light a few times on south beach. It didn't do me any harm. A glass of iced tea sweetened with 1/3 pack of splenda is good too. I drink gallons of it during the day.

At work (I'm a bartender) I drink water, with a lime/lemon squeezed in. Thats pretty good too. But your are right water gets old fast. I find if you drink it with a straw, you drink more Smile
