Ditch the 100 calorie pack
I like my booze calories in a Guinness Draught Wink

I make my own packs - usually almonds, walnuts, etc. It's nice to be able to grab one of my packs rather than measuring each and every time.

PLEASE can everyone list there "stay on track " tips of the day?
I ask myself - if I eat this I will need to make up for it in my workouts and do I really want to do that. If I don't want to add time to my workouts or add an extra workout - whatever I need to do to "dismiss" the extra calories I'll eat, then I ignore the craving. If I do eat, I try to go for something healthy rather than sweet. Easier to work off 300 calories from healthy food (plus you can eat more for less calories) rather than 1000 from a slice of chocolate cake. Sometimes I'll do cardio for about 15-20 mins and feel so good I don't want to spoil it. Going off and running errands does it for me too.

diets
Yes, when I was slim and athletic I would eat lunch or dinner and then feel hunger an hour later. I feel hunger now on occasion, usually when it's time for me to eat lunch or dinner. On the occasions when I feel hunger inbetween meals - I eat something healthy.

Our bodies are a living thing and putting it on a robot's schedule will not work, not for long anyway. If I don't eat when I'm hungry - I get tired and my day gets longer. If I eat something healthy, I noticed my energy level is good and that same evening and/or the next day I am able to perform better during my workout and at work I'm not so grumpy. I cannot do cardio for long if I'm hungry, and that can be so discouraging and so I eat when I'm hungry.

Key factor with me is that I have learned to recognize the difference between hunger and cravings for sweets and like minigirl says - I may be thirsty. So I drink some water and see how my energy level changes. They say you should not drink only when you feel thirsty - your body needs hydration continually regardless of thirst.

When I do eat sweets, or when I simply go over my calorie maximum with healthy foods, I make sure I add more time to my cardio work out that day and the next, or the next two days or so. Lifting weights keeps me in check better too - I feel stronger, my posture is better, my clothes fit better. I notice my weight lifting is poor when I have not eaten when hungry. So I listen and I feed Wink

In my past dieting over the years, I have ignored hunger and not lost weight, while now I feed hunger with healthy choices and continually lose weight.

DOWN
I read the profile and saw that they are the administrator of a challenge that begins in 4 days, "Lose 20lbs in 3 weeks", that's a pound a day.
So yes, this person definitely needs help and reached out. I am willing to bet they will think again before reaching out anymore thanks to this thread.
Some people come to these forums because they cannot find help in their immediate surroundings. We don't know what state of mind they are in and should consider that before jumping in with general and abrasive comments that in turn bring in the defense team. Maybe if the first response had been a request for more information so that we could make a better assessment instead of having a guess fest. Plus the poster could have partaken in a conversation that would have been constructive. It's a shame. Worldmuseum, if you are even bothering to read this anymore, do tell us more about yourself and please don't be discouraged by the results of your first post. But as you can see, there are many people here on your side and would like to see you reach a healthy and satisfying goal.
People that are "bored" should probably not react to these postings. I sometimes wish people would respond as they would if the individual was right in front of them. It's harder to look into the eyes of a stranger and make such abrasive comments.
