First HIIT bike workout in infrared sauna at 125º It was only 15 minutes and was a free trial. Was expecting to more or less hate it but surprisingly enjoyed it. Except for last 3 minutes. I was surprised i could keep up. Hubs came with me. He came out dripping wet because he didnt do the interval portion but just biked top speed thru whole 15 but i came out with a pretty fast heart rate and definitely accomplished the 20 minutes of activity where able to speak but difficult per drs orders. Think we are going to sign up for 3 months and see what my labs in august show. Also, given i cannot run, it was surprisingly similar to the feeling i get from running without the pounding on my knees or hips. Hubs had said he had zero interest in joining was just supporting me on the trial run but after he said he would come a few times a week with me. The heat felt good to him and cant deny the workout. There are only 3 bikes to a room so we had the session to ourselves. Ive never done a bike class of any sort but definitely see how it works. More to come.

ok.... I am totally interested. I know I can't afford it right now, but that is fine. Mental note made for the future. In the meantime, maybe I can just get all the burners on my stove boiling water at once and invest in a stationary bike?

If my grandfather can keep a carburetor in the kitchen, then it is totally appropriate for me to squeeze a stationary bike into one.

Good for you! I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it. I hate when the Gym may feel even slightly warm as I'm working out. I noticed from your pics, you sometimes wear long sleeved workout wear. Not me....even in the dead of winter I wear short sleeved t's.

So glad you enjoyed the class! I like the stationary bike but can only do it for about 10 min before my knees start clicking and hurting. That's why I stay away from cycle classes. You have peaked my interest though. Going to a new cardiologist in 10 days, ( old cardiologist is retiring) going to ask about hot Pilates..maybe things have changed ...keep us posted on how it's going!🩷

Sounds great! I am not a lover of sweating when I work out so not sure I could hang but the idea sounds really fun.

Awesome!! Good for you that you found something that still gets your ♥️ pumping, but not hard on the knees, etc. Keep us updated. :)

Sherrye i walk about 3 miles before i get to PT and some of those pix it was in the teens or 20’s outside so yep long sleeves inside when im still cold. But i run pretty hot. I keep my house at 68 in summertime and 70-72 in winter. That’s the only reason you see long sleeves. And prior to surgery of course where i didnt like to see all that excess skin on them if im being completely honest. It’s not a temperature thing for me. As ive gotten older i cant take the heat like i used to.

Unity1234 i have been on stationary bikes before. This bike was different an the movement was so so smooth. Also they had me set the seat higher. So i would definitely try different ones before investing in one. Let me know how the improvised stove sauna works out for you sis😂

Yearofhealth2023, my stove-top sauna has proven super useful in the past! One winter, I was able to keep my apartment warm while simultaneously nursing an orchid plant back to life, all with the power of steam! If it helps me burn calories too, I'll just add that to the already impressive list of accolades! 😂😜
