21 November 2015
We experienced the first snow of the year this morning. What had started with a few sparse snow flakes mixed with drops of water, turned into an intense but fortunately short-lived mini-blizzard.
Now there is no trace of snow on the ground and the rain has returned.

I went and ran in a caravan park this morning.I didn't know it was there as I had taken the direction of the gym which is itself located in a holiday camp with static caravans. This other camp was further up the road and intended for mobile homes and caravans pulled by cars. I didn't use the C25K app and instead used my mobile to check the time.
Out of season, the place was eerily quiet and empty. The damp and dull weather only served to amplify the silence and loneliness of the camp. I ran on a winding and, in places, damaged road between the empty spaces intended for cars and caravans. Crows and magpies would fly off when I got too close for their liking and land in nearby trees or further away, in the grass, that was a lush green.
The illusion of solitude exuded by the dead camp was broken by two guys in a pickup truck. As our paths crossed, I waved and they nodded. Maintenance was clearly still required, even out of the summer holidays season.
I went in circles on the broken road for ten minutes before getting fed up with the monotony of the scenery. As I ran through the exit, a refuse lorry got in. Again, the people inside the cab looked at me and nodded in my direction and I waved.
I ran on the open road, past the gym and some houses, as if I was going to the town centre. I was running a bit faster than usual. I met my neighbours walking their dogs, two border collies they rescued a few years ago. The dogs had previously experienced mistreatment and abandonment and, as a consequence, their general behaviour has been affected: in spite of being handled with love and patience by their present owners, they're still easily frightened and aggressive and bark at anybody and anything, including little kids and other animals. They got hysterical as I ran past them.
It was another full 30 minutes run, without hearing Laura's voice and I don't need it anymore to feel motivated. I also think my speed improved somewhat even though I am still slow.

Graduation day!! :D
I completed the third and last run of week 9 of the C25K program this morning. I have regained the enjoyment of running I had lost over the last 25 years :D and I have a better idea of what I am going to do next: I will build on what I have achieved so far and keep on running for half-an-hour three or four times a week.

Completed day 2 of week 9 of the C25K program. I ran in the rain: the morning had started with a drizzle but it was pissing down halfway through the session. I got soaked from head to toe but I managed to shelter my Android tablet inside the sleeve of my pullover.
As I am writing these lines, the sky has cleared and the sun is shining.
