I keep a daily journal of what I eat. Over the years I've learned a great deal how ANY food that has even minimal processing can be a big negative to my system.
Natural flavoring tops the list. While it must originate from an actual naturally occurring plant/item the method of extraction varies and is not disclosed on the label.
Solvent extraction can leave residue and that residue can cause negative reactions. A case in point is Decaf coffee; I have to be ever vigilant to avoid solvent extracted Decaf as I literally break out in acne reminiscent of a teenager. Lot of reading and trial and error but I've pinpointed many products I simply can't eat without experiencing problems.
That said to say this; I'm not concerned with the sudden gain as I've no doubt it's inflammation caused by a new (and amazingly delicious) salad dressing. I set it to the side and I'll know in about 2 days if it was the culprit.
Sooòo, PLEASE stop beating yourself up when you have a sudden uptick on the scale and seriously begin to deconstruct your food. Knowledge is power.

Note to self (and all my FS friends) Life is ever changing and ALWAYS will be.
Be in the moment and let's not wait for that mystical, magical unicorn moment when the stars align so we can begin -fill in the blank- that one task/project we put off.
I'm typing 'we' but taking a hard look at the person in my mirror. That person is the only soul responsible for what I do, or don't do.
This is Positive reflection due largely to alot of FS folk sharing events and challenges. The step towards sel-accountability is huge and difficult but a cheering section is an amazing gift.
Chores wait for no man so I'm out the door.
Love this group. Now, love that amazing person in the mirror they're awesome!!

it's been hectic around my place with the unsettled weather. lack of sleep and eating late in the evening are not friendly to a healthy lifestyle. But such is life.
Ever watch a Nascar race? Those drivers move from way back to up front throughout the race...seems we are a bit over reaching to think our journey to lasting health would be much different.
I'm OK sitting in the pack while I catch a second wind, then I'll be back at it.
Stay on task and we'll get where we're headed.
