I started my weight (245 lbs.) and fitness journey over 9 years ago. I was 49 about to be 50 in three months and had been working in Dallas, Texas for the past five months. I quickly gained 20 pounds from no exercise and eating horribly. Something triggered inside me and I decided to do something about it. I met with a registered dietician and started a strict 60 day high protein, low fat and carb restrictive diet. In addition, I did not exercise during this time. I quickly lost 30 lbs. and enjoyed the new way of thinking about food. As time went by, I added more carbs and become always aware of food portions. In addition, I added in exercise. Over the next five months I slowly lost another 13 pounds getting me to 202. I officially started tracking my weight on Fat Secret on November 15, 2015. I continued to learn everything about food, nutrition and exercise. It is a passion for me. Our health is determined by what we eat. I did eventually get as low as 183 pounds. However, I found it to be too thin. My ideal weight is 187 pounds. I am currently at 193 and will get to the weight I am happy with soon. Good luck in your personal journey.
