Does anyone ever read these things? Would love to get some input on a few questions... I am a first-time dieter - was always a tiny person 'til middle age and now, you know, it catches up with you... (!) I decided to get back to a healthy weight for me this past spring and managed to lose 20+ pounds over about half a year of following a modified sort of 5:2 diet, and exercise, and I have felt really good. So, circumstances meant that I recently took a month off of this new eating/exercising regime and I gained 5 pounds back during that time. But in the space of just a few days I seem to have shed it off again. So one question, if I can word it correctly, is some thing like this: IF you eat a lot one day, it will certainly show up on the scale the next day. Does weight/fat sort of fix into place after a while? Throughout my dieting time, I have certainly had days where I ate a lot - far too much. And the loss was pretty slow, but pretty steady (with a few plateaus along the way). And the regain was relatively fast. But it seems like, I don't know, the fact that the regained weight wasn't allowed to "settle" made it really easy to slough off again. Does that make any sense?
