Heck yeah! Heading south on the scale again. I feel great.
I just made the tastiest Green drink ever and the only fruit was a single apple. Well... they consider tomato a fruit don't they? I also had a single green Tomatillo.(sp?) These added a slightly salty, tangy spin on the earthy greens. I also slowed down how fast I feed the juicer and cut up the greens finely. This made for a far less pulpy juice. Good times!
I'm increasing my water intake. I haven't had anything but water and juice to drink since I started. Whenever I feel a pang of anything my first thought is to snag a glass of water first.
I watched Forks over Knives last night. More positive reinforcement. I may be the last generation that saw McDonald's at close to inception and can track the changes in menu items over the years. I remember when they used to track and update the number of burgers served in the marquee. I remember the introduction of the Quaterpounder. I remember when they used to offer it without cheese as a menu line item. Damn, I'm old.

I bought a dehydrator yesterday. I cut up an apple, a pineapple, strawberries, and added a leaf of chard and bok choy.
The most surprising thing was the chard. It came out crisp and tasty. The flavor was intensified by the process. I pulled the apple a little early and it came out chewy. I left the pineapple and bok choy over night. The pineapple came out perfect but pick up a little of the bok choy flavor. Lesson learned - Don't mix fruits with veggies. The bok choy stem was still moist. I think it needs to be blanched before drying. I didn't dig the bok choy much anyway.
Weight loss has slowed, but I'm confident it will pick up again. I'm feeling fine and don't intend to break my meat fast till Sept 17th. July 4th approaches. Time to make plans.

I had a large salad for dinner last night. I went to Ralph's and added all the veggies. Baby corn, cherry tomatoes, salad onions, olives, spinach, green peppers Today I'm going back to all juice. I don't want to slow down my weight loss. I'm sure that salad will pass right through me in no time. I enjoyed it as much as I would a steak. Now I know I'm on the right track.

A new challenge starts today. 40lbs by the end of Sept. By that time my 100 days will be over. I'm hoping to be a new shape by then. September is both far away and so very close. Exciting!

I was up way too late playing poker last night. I did win the most money and bust out the most players. I haven't played in a while, but my reputation as a loose player served me well. I was able to capitalize on that.
I'm mentioning all this in my journal because I noticed how aware of things I was while playing. I didn't drink booze. I didn't eat the junk food. I declined all the BBQ fixings.
I brought the juicer with me and picked up $18 worth of fruit. Pineapple, Apples, Grapefruit, Grapes, Plums, Watermelon, Oranges, Lemons and Lime. I juiced up 2 different batches and served everyone at the party. They loved it. I ended up leaving half a pitcher with the host and came home with a bunch of fruit.
There were chips, cookies, champagne, ice cream drumsticks, and sausage being consumed around me all day. I even sat at the table while people were eating. I don't think I've ever been on a diet that gave me this much resistance to temptation.
I made a point not to make a big deal about my diet. I didn't bring the green veggies for that very reason. I didn't want people seeing me juice cucumbers and kale and have that lead to a whole thing about my diet. This was a pool party and I went to have fun.
I'm very curious how my diet is going to shift when I come off this fast. My goal is to gravely reduce the meat I consume. Make it a treat, like once a month. I wonder if I'll still consider it to be such or if my tastes will reject it as being nasty.
Its hard to image a hamburger not being a desired thing but here's a shocker: Yesterday, I kinda missed the Green drink. I found myself looking forward to it. It's taste is complex compared to the fruit juices which are almost too sweet. It's pulp is thicker and more chewy which makes it more like a meal. My beyond good and evil drinks are becoming beyond good and good. That can only be good.
