3 weeks down. 10 more to go! Heading down the home stretch of my first month without meat. It was remarkably easy.
Things I do not miss:
Waking up at 2am with acid reflux bile sending me retching in the bathroom nightly.
Eating late and knowing it was stupid and I'd pay with the above.
Drive thru eating.
Feeling bad about doing nothing about my weight.
Hating vegetables.

Sunday was a bit of a food feast. There was enough gazpacho made to feed an army. The Kale chips came out great. I learned about nutritional yeast and it's cheesy nature. I'm going to try some vegetable pulp crackers that were put in the dehydrator last night. Mixed in with all this was water, a bitter Green drink and the Quince juice.
I bought a few bags of health food snacks to see if I could replicate them in the dehydrator. That came to $47 bones. Ouchie! But it was worth it. I can't wait to attempt dehydrated onion rings. They were the bomb!
Today is the start of exercise. I'm thinking of bringing shorts to the office and going for a 30 minute walk for lunch. New habits!

Yesterday I bought $74 worth of fruits, veggies and nuts. Everything was cleaned, washed and placed in the fridge. Today the plan is to experiment with the dehydrator making kale chips, use the blender to make homemade hummus and create gazpacho soup for dinner. After the chips are done, I'll dehydrate a fruit rollup and some pineapple for snacks.
Getting south of 280 is within striking distance. Time to break out the Wii Fit and Your Shape Fitness to mix some routine exercise into the breach. It means getting up an hour earlier, but I think I can make a go of that.

Plateau broken.
The funny thing is I had steeled myself for another neutral weight loss day. I went out for dinner last night. A friend came by and he was hungry. We went to the Hillstreet Cafe. He got a patty melt with onion rings and ranch dressing to dip them in. I got a dinner salad with balsamic vinaigrette. My salad was huge and I felt overfull when I finished it. The kind of full I used to feel after a large prime rib.
I was sure I had blown any chance of moving the needle this morning. I had to weight in twice just to be sure I hadn't messed up the reading. I guess my body finally gave up the ghost and resigned itself that this is for real. After a week of waffling I'm losing weight again.

Yesterday I had green juice for breakfast but didn't bring any juice to work. I snacked on snap peas and drank a ton of water. Before I went home, I grabbed a salad at Panera Bread. I ate the roll they give you in the car on the way home. It tasted like the best bread in the world. I cracked open the mixed greens salad at home and used the vinaigrette they provided. It was way too sweet. That night I made a fruit juice with a whole beet in it for dinner.
I'm kinda shocked that little is all I need to maintain my weight. When I think of the amount of calories I was consuming before, I'm shocked I didn't hit 400lbs.
Anyhoo... I'm sick of hovering around 285. I'm going back to straight juice and water. Cutting out snacks and salads until I'm below 280. Time to get my green on!
