So, now we've switched to an every-other-day style of fasting. This strategy seems to be more versatile as we travel, work and visit with folks. We can easily skip a day of eating to have a 3-day fast, or bump the schedule a day back to include dinner with friends.
Also, longer fasts are emotionally less satisfying since as your gullet empties you lose weight, but there is a large rebound as you refill your gullet after you begin eating again.
I'm hoping that the regular one-day-on, one-day off style will see less rebound effects.
That being said, the intermittent fasting overall works wonderfully. I haven't been at this weight since some time in the 1980s. In spite of excellent eating strategies, food supplements, regular (sort of) exercise, organic, non-gmo, etc. etc. etc. My desk job and work associated stress just slowly added up. No diet strategy worked. No doctor prescribed diet worked past the medications.
And, I just read a fascinating article that mentioned that even one day on a water fast significantly decreased some of the more challenging biome difficulties related to Cardio Vascular Disease. So, intermittent fasting has a lot to offer. I'm glad I did it!

Vacation and birthday in April. Did pretty well. I had actually scheduled to gain back 10 pounds over my 'holiday' and I didn't do that badly. Most importantly, I stayed mainly keto - so I don't have to recover from too many carbs. So, back on track for fasting in May!

Well... it's still working.
I've discovered that a good long swim on the last day or so of my fast really uses up store fat. I dropped a couple pounds on days that I worked out. Nothing fancy in my workout - a nice long swim, some weight lifting and some walking. I plan to do more workouts against the fasting state next month.
This week is my birthday, so we're headed out and will definitely veer off the keto path. My love got me two chocolates for a birthday treat and we're going to go out to dinner and indulge as well.
But, since, in spite of eating out and other variations, this is still working - I'm convinced that Intermittent Fasting is my path for the foreseeable future.

April is my birthday month and the opening of the Park where we make crafts. So, we've been really busy getting ready. We've been on our fasting schedule for over 3 months now, so I schedule April to be a month where we get to have time off from the fasting schedule whenever we want. Next week we're headed to the big city to have a meal at Texas de Brazil. If that doesn't add weight, nothing ever will!
I'm a bit disheartened not to be losing at quite the same rate, but you need time off. When you diet too long life can start to seem wearying, useless and dreary. That's lack of seratonin boosting foods in your diet.
So, sometimes, you just need to go and eat something delightful, sinful and decadent to remind yourself that life is worth living!!
So, I'm preparing to put on a few pounds and enjoy my birthday!
