Swap white bread for small brown bread slices(maximum 2 slices a day) I very rarely eat pasta or rice. Hold back on the potatoes! Good luck to your wife, it's not easy!

alchohol and diet
I too like a beer or 6!! Very difficult habit to break. I stopped drinking wine as it was too moreish and the bottle was gone in no time at 700+ calories! Now wine gets me too drunk
Only thing that has worked for me was giving up completely for a few weeks, when I drank again I had horrific hangovers, That really has put me off alcohol (for now)

New here! Need to lose about 20lbs
I've never been able to lose weight through calorie restriction before (only through exercise). I worked as a full time cleaner for 2 years and lost 2 stone whilst stuffing my face with whatever I fancied
But I've had 2 children since and gained the horrid stubborn 2 stone back
I've been strictly dieting for the last 3 weeks and lost 9 lbs! So yesterday I started calorie counting on here and am feeling positive. Wish me luck!
