I'm a 45 year old mother of one and wife of 22 years. I am 5'11". For the past 3 years I had become very inactive due to a heel injury. Then Spring (2011), just as I was getting back into walking on a regular basis, I tore the plantar fascia on my other foot and was on crutches and a cane for 6 months. I had gained weight during all my inactivity and it affected my overall health. So I took action and I took back control of my life!
Time for an update: (January 2012) It's been 5 1/2 months since I've started this journey. My foot and heel injuries have healed, my blood sugar and blood pressures are back to normal. I have tons more energy. I love feeling lighter on my feet! I started this just HOPING to make it close to 200lbs.
Another update: (May 2012) After almost 10 months, I have reached my initial goal of 200lbs (70lbs lost). I have never felt better. I went from a size 24W to a size 16 regular! I am exercising almost every day and love it!
Now that I've been at it for a while, I've decided to go all the way to my recommended BMI which would put me around 178lbs. So I'm 22 pounds away from being in the NORMAL RANGE! I can do this. I know that NOW.
