I'm in my mid 40s and an ex college athlete. In my youth, I was trying to pack on pounds to my 6'7" frame. Topped out at 275. Never had to watch my weight until I hit my late 30s and then the pounds started to come on little by little...I went from 220 in my mid 20s up to 250 by my late 30s and used this program to drop almost 25 pounds in a few months just by monitoring my caloric intake. I'm around 235 now and noticing that I'm not seeing the quick changes from just caloric intake. Beyond this program, I lift weights and do some fitness stuff on a consistent basis.
