Woke this morning to a pain in my gut. No, it wasn't necessarily the disease! I was so tired from yesterday's activities that I slept a solid nine hours! My bladder was too full! Today is starting out as a good day, but a cold front is moving in, and I have to make preparations for a hard freeze.

This morning's weigh in went down another notch or two. Even better, my blood pressure has been normal several times in a row! Higi said that my pulse was normal at 93, but that seems awfully fast to me. When I was a few years younger, the resting rate stayed in the 60s. Pain and walking just prior to the reading may have elevated it.
Weigh-in:

lost so far:

still to go:
62.0 lb

Most locals have that one food place that makes people salivate with glazed eyes while they plan their next visit. Where I grew up, it has always been Hermann Son's Steak House. Yes, I went, and yes, I ate. Riding in my dad's car did more damage than the food did! I should have taken more pain killers with me. So far, I have had little reaction to the food other than a major trip to the Little Room. When I got home, I swallowed the pain-removing essential oil formula, and the pain dissipated.
I had:
Alvin's Original Pepper Steak, extra hot
Handmade Onion Rings
Salad
Water
As usual, I skipped the pumpernickel and honey. My dad had the pepper steak, extra hot with baked potato, salad, and my share of the pumpernickel. They serve every steak-like cut of beef known to man and grill it to perfection. Do you see why I didn't want to miss this? Tomorrow might not be fun, but today certainly was!

Because my sister's husband was going to be there, and would probably say something about what I eat, I watched a few videos made by those who think keto is dangerous. There was no science involved, except for the old arguments comparing apples to oranges instead of apples to apples. Nutrition, just like politics, is truly a religion. Perhaps nutrition is part of politics, since it is mandated by the government! I am sooo tired of these religious zealots trying to run my life.

My dad would not want his picture on the Internet, so I found a stock photo of his generation. My dad served under Patton and was captured in France. By the end of the war, he had lost so much weight, (and hair), that his mother literally did not know him, and refused to let him into her house. People think he has male pattern baldness, but pictures show that he has had the exact same chrome dome since 1945. Yes, he is still alive, and we're taking him out for steak today.
Other family members also served, including my brother, my sister, my husband, and many of my extended family. My daughter and I were not able serve for medical reasons. She may reenlist at a later date, but my condition was permanent.
Happy Veteran's Day to all who served!
