Super excited about todays weigh in. I'm back around where I was last year at this time (I've done a lot of hovering), and I haven't seen anything below my last weigh-in since November 2022. Its really not much of a difference, but it makes me feel good.
Next week I have an appointment to get a referral from a Dr so I can participate in the weight loss study. Unfortunately its not with my primary Dr, but the one that I saw when I was having issues with my blood sugar and she basically dismissed me and my concerns because my A1C wasn't at 6.4 (it was 6.3). Super irritated about seeing her again, but its that or wait until October to see my primary. Honestly I keep going back and forth but Im afraid that if I dont do it now, Ill lose steam and wont sign up.

I went up a little and back down. Need to get out of the mindset of "having a Portillos Greek Salad so I can have cheese fries too" and "having a Culvers Grilled Chicken Sandwich so I can have a side of onion rings". Compromise sounds good, but it gets out of control. No fear though, Ill find my way.
Ive been going to the gym. I rowed a 5k for a fundraiser and that was a wakeup call haha. Im still running but struggling with slipping in one shoe. Never had a problem until that race and now its every time.

This was Saturdays weigh-in and I was very pleased. I signed up for a weight loss study that lasts a year because I figured that although Im doing alright for now, I have trouble with consistency. I have to get my Dr's approval which means I have to go in for a check up. I go every year anyway, but Im not due until Oct. They're getting me in earlier but I still have to wait a few weeks.
Went to the gym yesterday and got in my first run since my race. Im not really sore today either so I wont wait as long before I go again.

Last week I got some crazy bad news that Im still processing, I came back from vaca with a million things on my plate at work, and it was my birthday. I worked late, stressed out, and ate/drank terribly. I did make it to the gym on my birthday though and lifted some weights.
Since I wasnt being smart last week, this week Im trying to get back on that train. Im going to the store tonight and Ill be hitting the gym at least 2x this week.

I feel like Ive been eating like crap and not moving, so Im not sure how the scale is being kind to me. I have noticed that a few things are fitting better. Its not a huge change in weight, but its enough.
I ran my 5 mile race on the 4th and came in dead last. My only goal was to finish in the time frame that they gave, and I did that by one minute haha. I was definitely not prepared, but not in the way that I thought. Im going to keep trying though, and I think that Im ready to get back into the gym and start picking up some weights. I started using an app called Gentler Streak and its showing me that I push myself too hard, every time I work out. Its hard to balance that though when I have the energy and drive.
