becoming a vegetarian
i was veggie for 10 years and vegan for 1 until i was diagnosed with crohn's and severe anemia. I felt so much healthier (esp as vegan!) it kept me away from fast food, most sweets, and made me much more in tune with what i was putting in my body. As for support, my brother was veggie for 2 years before becoming vegan in 2007 so i had a lot of support from him. as for the rest of my family and friends, it was always a struggle to explain each and every time why and how and when and...etc. you just have to stay strong and stick to your guns! good luck!

cheat day?
thanks everyone. I am giving myself a cheat day...fridays for me. still not going waaay overboard though. We had a pot luck yesterday at work (pulled pork sammy's, fruit salad, cheese and crackers, hummus and pita chips, broccoli salad, and a low cal chocolate pie i made). I def ate what i wanted there but then for dinner had a salad and denied the alcohol! So maybe i'm not giving myself a cheat DAY as much as a cheat MEAL every so often which sounds about like what most of you are doing (although i did not count my calories...i think i was too scared to actually see how much it was) Thanks for all the great advice! lets keep up the hard work!!

cheat day?
Just wondering if anyone else allows themselves a cheat day? and if so do you still record all your calories on here or do you just let go and enjoy your day? All suggestion welcome!
Thanks!
