I’ve been nice and consistent with my eating the past few weeks. Eating overnight oats for breakfast is a perfect start to each day. I’m not getting cravings like I used to, I can eat a small portion of something and feel satisfied.
My husband and I are leaving for the beach on Monday; I’ve packed some workout clothes and plan on using the hotel gym and/or running on the beach. I plan to continue eating reasonable portions while on vacation, even though it may be hard to log some restaurant foods.

I stepped on the scale just to see. My belly is looking nice and flat. I’ve been running and doing some strength exercises so I may be developing a little muscle too. My husband and I are going to the beach next week for our 3-year wedding anniversary, and I feel pretty good about wearing a swimsuit now! It’s funny how the same weight can look so different; last time I weighed, it was 127.2 and I looked huge and bloated. I’ll continue to stay off the scale for a while.

It’s been several days since I decided to stop weighing myself, and I feel so much better about myself every day. I’ve been obsessively weighing myself every morning for years, and it would have a significant impact on how I viewed myself that day. Even if I woke up feeling good and liking my body, if the number on the scale wasn’t what I wanted, my attitude would turn and I would suddenly feel guilty and ashamed.
I recently gained back some weight after reintroducing carbs (which is expected), even though I’ve been exercising daily and logging all my food. I decided this week that I don’t need to see the number on the scale in order to appreciate all my effort. I can feel my increased energy, or see how my clothes fit, and those are better, less-obsessive indicators of my health and fitness.
