Goodmorning! It's beautiful outside, the windows are open, and spring is in the air! The hills are alive with the sound of music! Bing, singing I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas in the back ground. Ahhhh, life is good.
I was mean to the ol' food wagon yesterday. All good old fashioned non carbohydrate grub. I made amish bread and didn't even flinch. Today I have to steady my nerves for tomorrows showdown at the OK Coral, otherwise known in this here parts as weigh in day. Don't think it will go well with this months evil drawin' near, but we can hope for the best. I feel as if I have durn near sucked down a whole mess of water and it all went to my gut! Now, let me step out of this really bad John Wayne film...
Hope you all have a wonderful day where ever you are, and no worries! Life is short, do your best, and keep on smiling!
God Bless,
Vicky

Good morning all! It is going to be 80 degrees today here in North Carolina. I would like to say I am happy about that forecast, however, I am a sentimental fool who believes that Jingle Bells should be sung with...well...snow! Dashing through the dead grass just doesn't have the same ring now does it? Not to mention that I could be wearing a bikini while dashing! Oh well.
In early celebration of my birthday, which is today, I indulged in a small piece of lemon amish bread last night, but will forego any extra's today. No guilt though. I know I have been doing this long enough that my metabolism won't take too long to get back on track, and besides, a person only turns 21 again a few times in their lives! I am thirty pounds thinner this birthday than I was last year, and my husband gave me the greatest present ever by telling me I just get prettier with age. It makes the whole thing worth it, and is the best motivation I could ask for. So, the day seems to be unfolding nicely.
To those of you stranded in your homes due to ice or snow, sing Jingle Bells! And know that I am wishing I was there!
Have a blessed day,
Love, Vicky

Last night, the freezer called my name. Inside, cookies I made for Christmas. Sweet, buttery, decadant. Begging to be tasted, eaten! Instead, I answered the call of my more determined head that said "Do it and you will be sorry!" I ate a salad. Can I tell you, no matter how hard you try, salad does not taste any where near as wonderful as a homemade oatmeal cookie! Then to top it all off, I decided to test the scale this morning...I gained a pound! I know it is because of a horribly evil monthly holiday, but still, my heart says "Ya shoulda ate the cookie dumby!" ~SIGH~ Past experience tells me that as soon as we get through this time, five pounds will melt off, and I will be a thinner and happier person. But what in God's green earth shall I do until then? I know...slobber and drool and say NO.
My rottweiler loves this time, because inevitably, I will reach for a cookie. I'll sit down, and he will faithfully sit by my side, and I will take a breath taking bite of diet sin. Heisman, my rottie, will be looking at me as if to say "It's okay if I'm fat Mommie. Give me that cookie!" And ya know what? I obey! Dogs, (Don't let him hear me calling him that! He's a ROTTWEILER!) are angels of the diet realm. Every one should have one for those hard times! :)
I hope you all are succeeding better than I am at this point. But I will not falter, I will not fail! And neither shall you! God Bless you ALL! And have a great day!
