I am so incredibly sick right now. When I normally think of health, I think about fitness related things, not how much vitamin C is need to take to kick this virus out of my body. I slept all day yesterday and I'm still tired. Wth.

In a moment of weakness this afternoon, while I was having a mean craving for a 5 guys burger which then turned to a craving for Wendy's chili and baked potato, I hopped in my car and went to Wendy's. After a bit of looking at the menu and feeling a slight disgust towards something they call a Baconator, I yielded to my better instincts and ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a side caesar salad and an unsweetened iced tea.
How many calories you ask? 320 for the Ultimate Grilled Chicken Sandwich and 260 for the side caesar. 580 calories for something that could have easily been 850 calories for a hamburger and fries. Booyah!
I feel good, nah nah nah nah nah.

I don't know why I'm constantly trying to cheat when it comes to eating healthy! There is so much diet information out there that I start to rationalize that I can eat junk as long as I eat it in small enough caloric quantities.
Do you know why this doesn't work? Junk food is bad for us and doesn't provide the nutrients our bodies actually need so we end up eating more of it and craving more of it. This is particularly true of processed foods and white carbs.
I don't know why, despite the fact that I understand that clean, fresh, natural foods are the best for my body, I still crave that 5 guys burger.
I think about the kind of dieter I am and realize that I am an extreme personality. I need to go (excuse the verbage) all balls out. If I slip a little, I go for the whole landslide.
From now on, healthy, natural foods, no exceptions.

I got up this morning and went for a 2 mile run. Not too much, but it was a good start. Also, upping my minimum daily steps to 6,000 instead of the paltry 3,000 I have it stuck at now. Turns out, I sit a lot.

I found my nintendo dohickey. It's on me now and I'm shooting for a 5,000 step goal everyday for the rest of this week. Then I'll start doing my morning runs.
I've started to prepack my meals and it has made ALL the difference. I'm eating healthier (protien, fruits and veggies) and I have more energy. So much energy I didn't need a nap yesterday which I did need the 3 days before.
The biggest thing I like about prepacking my food for the day is that I don't spend money on lunch or dinner and I'm super productive!
