My name is Lisa, I am 45 years old and I live in Tennessee. I have a wonderful husband that I have been married to for 23 years and 4 children ranging in ages 27 to 10. I love to paint, sew, crochet and all kinds of craft projects.
I have struggled with weight almost my whole life. A few years ago I found that I was not feeling well and discovered that I had a heart condition and other weight related health problems. I dieted and lost 50 lbs. Still had around 70 lbs. to lose but I felt great. BUT as with any "diet", I fell off the bandwagon and found it was way too difficult to cook for the family and me separately. So I gained all but 5 lbs. of it back. I was feeling horrible again. My skin was breaking out, I was constantly dizzy and lightheaded with low blood sugar and found out through a Dr. visit I was borderline diabetic and insulin resistant. I was tired all the time and had absolutely no energy!
A few months ago I was reintroduced to Atkins way of eating and it's been a trial and error along the way, but I absolutely LOVE this! I now have energy and all of my problems have went away. I am 40 lbs. lighter and I can do things I haven't been able to do in years. I still have a long way to go before I reach my goal weight, but this is lifestyle change and I am willing to wait as long as it takes to get there.
