Plateau So Soon?
Look at these numbers:
20 Jun 14: 154.4 lb
19 Jun 14: 154.4 lb
18 Jun 14: 154.8 lb
17 Jun 14: 156.2 lb
16 Jun 14: 154.8 lb
15 Jun 14: 154.4 lb
I'm working with a calorie deficit of 800-1000. I'm expecting weight loss at a rate of 2lbs/week. I've been getting those results so far, but not this week. I should be closing in on 152. (I started this diet June 2, and my initial weight was 160.4.)
If I've hit a plateau, 5 f--cking pounds in, I'm just going to have to give up. I will not be able to function if I eat any less. What gives? Could it be water retention from my period?

Why Would You Eat That, Part 3: Smoothies
Smoothies just seem like a way to take in more calories and feel less full (because the volume of a smoothie is much less than all of its constituent parts left whole). I mean, you could probably eat a fraction of what you put into a smoothie and feel just as full.
Is anybody successfully working smoothies into their low-calorie diet? Personally, I'll stay away.

Why would you eat nuts?
@megmonster
"Nuts are good for you in moderation, but I can't buy the cans of salted cashews or I will eat them by the handful. Not worth it."
This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. I'm the same way!
As far as the dining hall situation goes, I don't have the willpower to go to an unlimited buffet 14 times a week (or even once a week for that matter) so I don't. It works much better for me. Luckily, there are dining halls and convenience stores that I can use my meal plan with so I get most of my food from the stores. Again, most of it's snack foods, but there are some really good options like yogurt, boiled eggs, cheese sticks, etc. The rest I try to supplement with trips to the local grocery store.

Dieting and Not Exercising?
" I am fully aware, however, that I'm going to have to increase my activity as I get closer to my 'big goal.'"
Totally agree, RobynByrd. I'm eventually going to get to a point where I can't create the calorie deficits I need without exercise. :/ But I always planned to incorporate some manageable amount of exercise into my weight maintenance plan.
