I am a 24 year old medical student. I am overweight according to my BMI and I would like to live healthier lifestyle amongst all of my studying. I also feel that if I were healthier, it would keep my mind working and concentrating better. I have a tendency of doing well for a few weeks, then I get stuck at the same weight every time and quit. This time I really want to work through it. I think it would help me with insecurities and confidence.

I hate running althought I force myself to try and do it. It's hard to do any group activities though with school. I ran my first full 5K back in may as a New Years Goal and I am signed up for another in october.

I'm on here to help keep me on a track and hopefully find others to help me and be able to help them too!

Help me train for a half marathon!
Hey everyone!

so I have done about four 5k's within the past year. I think I might be ready to commit to a half marathon. The one I want to do is the Detroit half Marathon in October. I have been consistently running 2 miles a day. But i am NOT a runner...I run about 10 minute miles. I have looked up training schedules for halfs, but all I can find are ones for people who can already run like 4-5 miles.

Does anyone know or have done a training program that starts a little lower? Or do I just need to get myself up to 4-5 miles and start one I found?

Ok so I am taking my board exams in June. I am going to plan workout time every day into my 5 week study schedule. I usually work out about an hour or more but I dont have time for that. I wanted to do something that doesnt take too long and I have heard about this before...does anyone know how well it works? Or should i just plan a short run into my schedule every day?

Has anyone done south Beach? My sister did it and liked it and I just bought the book...any advice or info on the diet would be great before I start it up!
