I have been tested and have been diagnosed by my dr for hypothyroidism hashimoto. I take Levothyroxine, for me I find it actually helps with the symptoms of hypothrodism my only complaint was the weight gain.

looking for help from others with hypothyroidism
Thanks for all the replies, I should add that my thyroid issues aren't the normal kind beacause im a just over a year out from radiation treatment in the head and neck. I had high doese of radiation to the neck area due to an unknow primary site. I had reqular thyroid levels, until Jan 2013. I don't have any family history of thyroid problems.

looking for help from others with hypothyroidism
I've done Atkins before and had success, and started it again, this is my second week going in the third. Has anyone with hypothyroidism( Hashimoto's) had issues with losing weight? I have been following Atkins induction to a tee, and I've lost 8 lbs but now seem to be gaining back 2 lbs so far and not sure why, im at about 20 carbs a day. any advice? is this normal? I've never gained back weight while on induction? I've never done induction with the thyroid issues, as I was just diagnosed in Jan 2013 and im stable with the dose.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
