So... my son has become my advocate and personal trainer! I began my walking journey on our treadmill on June 22, starting slowly at 2 mph and for just 10 minutes just to get the feel of it again. I kept it up almost daily until we went on vacation at the end of July, but even then, he had me doing strength training in our condo for a week in addition to the large amount of walking we did at Busch Gardens! Before we left I was doing a steady 20 minutes and at 3 mph! Back to it again on August 16 and I've been walking 25 minutes since September 2. I'm proud of my progress with that, and I even look forward to getting on the treadmill as it's a way to de-stress after work (plus, I watch Netflix while I walk!). My eating habits are so-so. I do pretty good for breakfast and lunch, but dinner can sometime be my undoing. Even after exercising. I wait until afterwards to eat dinner, so it's typically on my own. Chunky Soup and a sandwich or chips and some lowfat yogurt. But it's late. It's 8:30 p.m. now, and I still haven't eaten any dinner. They say you shouldn't eat after 6! And, not seeing much in the way of weight loss, either. Maybe trading fat for muscle? I hope that's the reason, because I'm not seeing any change in the numbers on the scale, and that's depressing. Glad that my son continues to cheer me on, though!

So... I'm back! My 18-yr old is IN to running cross-country and track (and basketball!). During the summer, he's decided to keep up with the running by using the treadmill... at least someone is! Well, now it's become his goal to help his mother get back on the wagon, er... treadmill! I did 30 minutes at 2.5 mph and I'm still alive. Not brave enought to enter my current weight; maybe tomorrow! But, my goal is to keep up with this here instead of sitting on my a$$ on the couch every night after getting home from work. I may be mentally drained each evening from work, but I need to put the time to better use.

So... DH is in the 200 and single digits now! Still waiting for him to hit that plateau... it can happen any time now... really! We've been playing around with the idea of spending some real money and purchasing a "Smooth" treadmill. They've received very good reviews and we can have one delivered and set up for about $1200. Warranty service and in-house repair deals seem very good as well. Always difficult to make the commitment with that sort of amount of money, though... more to come...

I honestly don't know how he does it... Jeff has managed to drop some weight just this week--he weighs himself every morning. Yesterday he had to point out that his USPS pants were fitting him better. This is the man that drinks coffee and diet pepsi until he gets off work at around 5:30 and then eats supper and that's it for the day. It's a good way for him to show a fast weighloss, but ultimately his metabolism gets used to it and the weightloss stops. But I'm so envious that he is disciplined enough to not eat anything until supper. I just can't do that. Feeling bitter, though. Wonder if the scale will show a loss tomorrow morning... at least Flo is gone again...
