I just wanted to pop in and share some amazing news with my buddies. This week not one, but two people commented on my weight loss. "There's less of you, isn't there?" This is the first time since I've put my mind to losing weight that someone who wasn't a family member has said something without knowing ahead of time that I was trying to lose weight.

Ahhh! I love seeing little improvements. Just about a year ago, I had rented a car and when I dropped it off, I walked home. I was completely winded, sore and flush -- it was painful!
Well, today, I walked the exact same route to go to the Farmer's Market and I was barely sweating when I got there! Granted, this time I had to walk twice the distance (I had to come home, too) and that nearly killed me, but it is a start.

So far, this hasn't been a good week for me and the B.E.A.C.H. challenge. I don't know why it is, but I can't motivate myself to watch the exercise DVD I bought. I don't know if I'm intimidated, don't want to look silly in front of my family or just a bum. I'm going to keep working at it and doing the 100 push up challenge at the same time.
Today is the first day that I've been able to wear my new jeans with the size 54 waistband. While that may seem high, I started my journey at a 60 and that means I'm down six inches in about 8 months!
In other amazing news, I got a memo today from my awesome employer. They're going to start covering 50% of our health insurance. I really appreciate it and this just makes them even more awesome.

I'm up a smidge and I'm going to have to blame tasting while cooking. How can you make tasty potato salad without tasting at least a little? Ofcourse, I have no idea how many of those little tastes I look yesterday.
In other news, my pork soup came out well. I put pork hocks, pork chops and bacon into the slow cooker until all the meat fell off the bone. Today I'll have to skim off the fat and fish out the bones, but a few tastes last night revealed that it tastes great.

Ah ha, a new low for me! This is going great. Last night, my wife and I didn't feel like cooking so we went to BK and I got two double whoppers with bacon. The bacon and meat was really good slathered in mayo and the poor lettuce, bun and tomatoes went right to the trash can.
Today we're cooking a lot! So far I've made angelled eggs, deviled eggs and cole slaw. We're working on potatoes now and hamburger patties will follow.
