I'm 52 yr old female who sits at a desk working with computers all day. Very little movement in my job. I walk my dogs and that is the only regular exercise I'm getting but I am working at trying to get to the gym I joined. :-)

Best Diet Plan??
I'm with everyone who said to log what you eat. I went on Weight Watcher's diet, but many of the suggestions on this post are great and don't cost as much. I have one suggestion that totally works for me. I log anything I eat after 6pm at the beginning of the next day. Then everything I eat that day goes on my log until 6pm again. I found that in the evening I wasn't as good at tracking so this makes me honest - and I put EVERYTHING - even those few little snack thingees I stuff in my mouth in the evening. When you see it in the morning, you really do think about what you want to eat for breakfast and lunch.
Exercise will increase your losing as long as you don't increase your food intake. Do it slow if you have never exercised - like I started with like a goal of 10 crunches, squats etc a day. I do that for like a week until it becomes so easy that I naturally add on. I love zumba and dance workouts - joy and exercise at the same time!
If you hate exercise, try walking. If it's raining walk at the mall if you don't belong to a gym. If you screw up, just shrug and get back on it. Also, don't tell people you are trying to lose weight - tell them you are working at a healthier lifestyle. The more people that know the more you will be aware of what you eat/drink when you are around them.
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

my fitness regime
I'm struggling too. I have committed to 15 min every morning. I've done it 5 out of 7 days. I'm hoping to up that, but when you work off hours you are so tired when you get home. I'm thinking that 15 min of exercise plus my 30 min walk in the evening with the dogs might help. Good luck to you!

Weighing In
I'm having an issue with jumping on the scales all the time - sounds like you are doing that too. We should probably only get on once or twice a week. We will fluctuate and we just need to maintain the momentum!

nighttime
I was just telling a friend of mine how my grandparents were Italian and there was always a bowl of fruit on their table. I never remember looking for snacks - you just grabbed an apple, grapes or a pear. Maybe you could try buying really fancy yummy fruit and putting it close to where you come in the house?
