I went on the Atkins diet a few years ago and was pretty successful. Now I'm back to being more of me than I care to see in the mirror! I'm going to be 50 this year so this is the year I am going to try South Beach. I know other who have lost with this diet so I'll give it a try! This is my first day so hopefully I will reach my goal and be 25 pounds lighter by the time I see my half century birthday!!

stomach problems, heart palpatations and pain response
Hi there, I too have hypothyroidism, and IBS. I used to feel like a Macy parade balloon most of the time! Since I've cut down on the carbs and suger I feel great!! I don't feel bloated any more and I am very regular. I also walk every day at least a half an hour which I think plays a big part in regularity. I went to my Dr. last week and told her I am on a low carb diet, she said she noticed my stomach felt a lot better. Just to add, my cholesterol was good too! I think if you drink a lot of water during the day and try to exercise a bit you would feel better. Oh, and get off the fiber pills too. All the greens like salads and veggies should be enough for you. Too much fiber works the other way. As far as your heart problem, I felt like my blood pressure would spike too for around two weeks. It went away. I think it's just the body adjusting. Good luck! Smile

Withdrawals
I've been on this diet for a couple of weeks now, but I feel like I'm having withdrawals. I'm really foggy-headed. Has anyone felt this way and what do you do?
