Hello everyone ... I am rather new here and am hoping to find some support and accountability though this website. I am loving the fact that I can log my food intake on here , it makes me very aware of what I am eating by logging it all on here.
Alittle bit about me ... I am 33 years old . I am a single mom with three kids , although I am in a great relationship with someone who is very supportive and helpful. I have struggled with my weight ever since I had my first son almost 15 years ago. I have gotten down many times over the years but it has always been a yo-yo. This past time that I gained was while I was going to nursing school. That was so hard to do and juggle the kids and work and studying. I literally was completely inactive because I had no time. And my eating habits went to hell , fast food and quick meals. On the bright side I graduated at the top of my class and now have a job that I LOVE with all my heart.
With so many aspects of my life being much more stable now I know that it is the right time to get serious and take the time to work on ME. I just want to lose the weight and FEEL good again. I am really hoping that I can find some support on this site and make this a change that will last this time. So far I am doing great and unlike in the past , the change in diet isn't bothering me , in fact I feel really good. I am starting to workout again. I remember when I was at my best a few years ago I was doing zumba classes several days a week. I want to work back up to being able to handle that again. I know it will happen.
If you think we have anything in common or would be helpful to each other send me a message. the more support the better .THANKS

losing 10.5 lb a week

Tomorrow is weigh-in day . I feel like I have had a very good week. I have kept calories under 1600 per day without feeling deprived. Boredom seems to be my worst enemy because the urge to mindlessly snack hits. So I have been keeping very busy lately. Planning meals and pre-cooking items to keep me on track. It seems like if I don't plan and make the meals and pack lunch for work , it is easy to fall off track.
I went on a little shopping spree yesterday. I have always wanted to buy workout clothes that I actually like but I talk myself out of it . That whole why spend money on clothes that I might not fit for long. But I think that is a bad attitude. I think that half of the battle with weight is that I don't feel good about myself to begin with , and then who wants to look like a bum at a workout class wearing ugly sweats and big tshirt. So I went and got new shoes and a couple workout outfits that can mix and match to make a several outfits.
I am not using the awful dreaded word DIET this time around. DIETS fail in my opinion. I am working on changing my eating habits for good. Learning to eat foods that satisfy me and do not deprive me , while nourishing my body. Becoming more active , for myself and with my children. I do not want to set myself up to fail. There is no magic that is going to fix me overnight. I didn't gain weight overnight and I know I will not loose it overnight.
